The country that we live

Malaysia is the country we live. We love Malaysia. Malaysia is a great place full of nice food, nice place and nice people. I was grown up on this great piece of land. I got my education here. I got my family here. Everything is just too great! Hence, we really love Malaysia.

In Malaysia, nothing is possible, as the following example.

  • Yesterday, the government decided that because the companies which are running the highway incurred too high maintenance cost, and also stated in the contract that every few years have to increase toll price, hence the government has no choice but to increase the toll price. Else they will have to pay a sum of money that is enough for me and my family plus another 200 friends of mine, to live another 200 years, at least. Privatisation, this is so called. Record profit, shareholders, directors, any related parties, draws the money like no one business. Loss? Government using the Rakyat's money to compensate for them to survive. Thats how beloved our Government is, to look after the companies and will never let them die.

  • Today, the government decided that "OOpppsss... wrong decision.... pity the Rakyat because will have to bear higher cost of living (actually it looks likely to be the by-election is coming soon), hence the government being too understanding to take back their decision on the toll hike". Thats how beloved the government is. We are proud to be a Malaysian, arent we?

To be continued....

Time flies...

It has been ages ago since I last updated my blog. I have no idea that I did not update simply because I could not be bothered to, or I have got nothing to write, or I just simply lazy. There are lots of reasons when a person wants to do something, and at times, all you need is one reason for not doing that thing....!

Im an auditor. Life for auditor is bad for the first few months of the year, if not for the whole year. Everyone seems to be rushing rushing and rushing for something will not cause a life, but we named it "deadline". In Malaysia, we love to set everything deadline, we love to use the word "urgent", we work everything following instructions, even though most of the time, these instructions are totally ridiculous. This is Malaysia working culture. This is Malaysia corporate environment.

It came to a point that I was wondering, am I really suitable for the job Im doing now? Im still in the firm because of my professional qualification, or because I love the job, or because I do not know what to do where to go, and hence I just stayed on. Am I wasting my time? I have no answer.

Perhaps, coming to mid of the year, after the exams, its time for me to really consider... what I really want to achieve? I should waste no time anymore......!
